It's hard to believe that Planet Eclipse already released their 5th generation paintball gun, the Ego 9. In 2004, the first Eclipse Ego debuted and captured the attention of most professional players and high-end gun users. Planet Eclipse built a gun around weight, air efficiency, size, ergonomics, and accuracy. Over the last 4 years, Planet Eclipse has been making some very aggressive moves in the high-end paintball gun market. The Ego came in and swept away "old technology" in paintball.
Right now the leading manufacturers in the high-end gun market are Dye/Proto (DM9/PM8), Smart Parts (Shocker), and Planet Eclipse (Ego). Dye has released their new loader named the "Rotor" at the 2008 World Cup. Dye claims the Rotor has the "most consistent feed rate of any loader on the market". Made from Nylon material, the intelligent design behind the Rotor allows for quick maintenance and disassembly, making it extremely easy to clean. No more screwdrivers or Allen/hex keys needed for this loader. Very impressive Dye.

Dye has released a Youtube video preview of the new DM9 paintball gun. The Dye DM9 is now the lightest gun in the Dye Matrix family. Hyper 3 regulator, new trigger design, new milling, new eye technology and more. The Dye DM9 has been announced for release at the World Cup in October. Watch the vid and don't covet too much.
